The accounting firm was formed in November 1947 by founders Mark Beckman and Otto Hilt. The firm name was Beckman, Hilt & Co. Six years later, Charles McCrate joined the firm. During the 1960s John DeLaet became a partner. Today’s name, McCrate, DeLaet & Company, was established after the passing of Otto Hilt in 1966. The firm started out in the Ohio Building in downtown Sidney, Ohio.  It moved to the Courtview Center (downtown Sidney, Ohio) in December of 1989. We started our financial services, McCrate Wealth Management, in 2001 (wealth management). McCrate, DeLaet & Co. has stayed up on the technology side, moving to cloud-based software in 2006.  The firm has grown to currently 6 partners, and over 20 professional staff.
